‘Architect’s wife & mother of two’ Iseult O’Malley was in a pensive mood, as she explored how she felt about her first Covid Christmas over a glass of wine with next door neighbour and best friend Margaret Carberry.

“While I do feel that in many ways it’s brought Dave and I closer,” she mused, “it’s also made me more aware of why most accidents happen in the home?”

Carberry nodded sympathetically, as she wondered if it was too soon to hint at opening another bottle of Sancerre.

“But the main thing to remember,” O’Malley continued, as she reflected on the single, marathon running Italian professor who’d moved in several doors down, “is that while it’s all very well to have a fantasy, it’s another thing entirely to…act upon it”.
