MTG Says Some People “Make Conspiracy Theorists Look Bad”

Marjorie Taylor Greene has called on her party to force Mark Robinson who wants to be Governor of North Carolina, to “pick a crazy conspiracy and stick with it?”

Greene said “What you do is, you pick one freak claim and run with all the media hysteria it generates. You don’t fall into the orchestra pit and set the building on fire?”

(Greene was referring to the Orchestra Pit Theory of Politics, as advanced by the late Fox News chairman, Roger Ailes: “You have two guys on stage and one says, ‘I have a solution to the Middle East problem,” the other guy falls into the orchestra pit. Who do you think is going to be on the evening news?”)

Speaking off the record, Greene said, “Robinson can’t make up his mind. He lists JFK, the moon landings, 9/11, climate change, mass shooters, George Soros, the Illuminati and the New World Order? Frankly, this is ‘conduct unbecoming’ of a GOP candidate. And it’s bringing the whole idea of freak conspiracy theories into disrepute? It’s ugly, it’s undignified and it undermines the credibility of conspiracy theorists everywhere.”

Taylor Greene herself made unprecedented headlines with her 2021 claim that Californian wildfires were caused by ‘Jewish space lasers’.

When asked for comment, a rebuttal spokesman for the increasingly slim section of the Republican party known as ‘mainstream Republicanism’ replied, “Tell her to call the Gazpacho police?”

It’s thought he was referring to the time Taylor Greene called the Capitol Hill police force, “the Gazpacho police”, confusing the cold Spanish soup, Gazpacho, with Germany’s Nazi-era secret police, the Gestapo.
