Postman Still Calling It The Gurmet Tart Co
Almost a year after the Gourmet Tart Co opened it’s latest branch, locals say postman Danny Gillespie still can’t get his tongue around the name.
“I’ve told him a hundred times, it’s pronounced ‘goor-may‘,” manager Amy Brady smiled, “but it made absolutely no difference”.
“Every single time he mangled it.”
A colleague of Gillespie’s said she had no comment to make, other than to point out he’s never been able to say Peugeot or the Brasserie on the Corner either.
“Danny always says ‘Purrjoe’ for Peugeot and brassiere for Brasserie‘?” she said.
“It’s not like he’s trying to be funny either,” she mused, “you should hear him trying to pronounce Irish words!”
