Specsavers Offer Jim Allister Free Eye Test

TUV leader Jim Allister has reacted angrily to a new Specsavers advert, offering him a free eye test.

Allister ( who left the DUP to set up the TUV ), recently attacked Jeffrey Donaldson ( who left the UUP to join the DUP ) over his ‘disloyalty’.

The TUV leader’s inability to see the absurdity of this position led Specsavers to make the public offer as part of an online campaign which also featured the ‘Looney Tunes‘ cartoon characters Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck.

“Do you sometimes find your short sightedness exposes you to public ridicule?” the ad says. “Then drop into any of our stores. We’re offering free eye tests to the near blind all this month.”

The exceptionally dour Allister, who is privately referred to by colleagues and friends as “Sunny Jim,” said he was ‘not amused’.

Separately the National Federation of the Blind has denied it offered to teach him braille.
