Ireland Introduces New Alcohol Label Warning “Booze Makes Everyone Look More Attractive Than They Really Are”
Ireland is to become the first country in the world to mandate health labelling on alcoholic drinks to alert people to the fact that “after a few glasses, everyone gives you the horn”. And also to warn that people who are particularly vulnerable to its effects, can very quickly become fond of country music and conservative politics.
The European Commission did not object to Ireland’s plan, which the government flagged last year. However Italy, Spain and six other EU member states were able to block a plan to introduce ‘taste’ warnings on wine bottles.
Two of the suggested alerts were ‘No way is this piss worth €8” or ‘Good enough for Mother’s Day but not good enough for a second date”.
