Kari Lake Clarifies Stance On Abortion: I Don’t Want It To Cost Me A Senate Seat?

In a hard-hitting interview Kari Lake has come out strongly against her abortion stance costing her votes.

Lake, who not only said abortion is “the ultimate sin” but that “abortion pills should be illegal”, is quite clear that she does not want her views to become a talking point in the Arizona senate race.

“Women have far more important things on their minds now than what I did or didn’t say about denying them access to abortion. Democrats would love to paint me as some kind of weirdo who wants to take away women’s rights but I refuse to let them? At least not until the votes are in and have been fairly counted by certified republicans whose only loyalty is to Donald Trump and the party.”

Lake also said she may in the past have given people the wrong impression when she said her political rise had “driven a stake through the heart of the [Senator John] McCain machine”.

“That’s my off the wall sense of humour,” Lake laughed, “that sometimes, people like the McCain family, just don’t get?”

A member of Lake’s team later said he was sure that “once people understand who she is,” they will support her.

A friend of the McCain family replied, “round here people understand exactly who she is”.
